My favorite Sci-Fi movie of all time

It’s the one that starts with a small ship being attacked by a larger ship which directly leads to a rebellious young farm boy who lives with his step parent, and dreams of outer space, only to meet an older wise man who knew his true father and asks him to join some crazy space mission and visits a bar full of aliens, then has to go on a rescue mission on a really big ship in order to save some one with that partner he originally hated, but ends up becoming good friends with by the end, and they end up destroying the evil large ship that can destroy planets then get medals…
