Here are some basic probability statements for Creighton's coffee shop visit (based off of his two tweets) that I jotted down.
In addition, if you were to start randomly picking people out of this shop you’d have a 22% chance of picking someone with a PC under 12 inches, a 7% chance of picking someone with a PC over 12 inches, another 7% chance of picking a person with a Mac under 13 inches, and a whopping 57% chance of grabbing someone with a Mac over 13 inches.
The chance of picking a nerd reading a book is 7%, which is interestingly the same as your odds of picking someone with a PC over 12 inches or a person with a Mac under 13 inches. Intriguing stuff.
Side note: I know what you’re all thinking “What the fuck did Carnegie Mellon do to Bryan?”, but fear not, I laughed out loud in class because an answer was 69 the other day… all is not lost.
